Biography:

Rory Gilbert is a professional actor, director and writer. Rory graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2016 with a BFA in Acting & Directing. His training included but was not limited to acting (for stage and film, classical and contemporary), stage combat, singing, dancing, and voice and speech. In his 3rd and 4th years at UNCSA, Rory took directing classes in tandem with the acting curricula, officially graduating from the directing track. He is the only “directing major” in UNCSA Drama’s history to perform with the graduating actors in their Los Angeles showcase.

The Society of American Fight Directors has recommended Rory for work in combat choreography involving single sword, knife and unarmed combat; and certified him in the use of rapier & dagger as well as theatrical firearms (stage and film).

In 2018 Rory moved to New York City when awarded the Lincoln Center‘s Kenan Fellowship.
